The Standards Checker is one of many MicroStation platform features available in AECOsim Building Designer. Some detailed notes are located in the MicroStation wiki, here is a brief digest with pointers to the relevant help sections:

The help for this feature is in the ABD help section: MicroStation > Setting Up Projects > Ensuring Standards Compliance.

    • In the dgnlib folder pointed to by MS_STANDARDSCHECKER_SETTINGSFILE create a new dgn file.
    • In this file, follow the steps in the 'Defining Standards Checker Settings' section to create one or more sets of checks. These sets will be saved in this file.
    • Once you are done, run a file compress with all of the options ticked to remove any levels, etc. (this file will be one of your libraries and you don't want any levels or other elements duplicated in multiple libraries).
    • Close the file then rename as dgnlib.

Next time you run the Standards Checker in a project file you should see the names of the setting you created listed in the Setting Name pop-down.

Ensure that standardschecker.xsl is present in the location defined by MS_STANDARDSCHECKER_STYLESHEET to include the html styling required for correct display of any reports.

Please see the help section 'Running Standards Checks as a Batch Process' for guidance on running the checks on multiple files.
