Problem Description

The i-model plug-in for Revit 2016 is rumored to be released late in the second quarter of 2016

Steps to Resolve

There is a workaround that you can use until the i-model plug-in is released.

If you do not already have Structural Synchronizer and the ISM Revit Link plug-in installed you can download the installers here:

https://store.bentley.com/en/products/iware/1000ISMRPI--ISM-Revit-plug-in
The ISM Revit Link plug-in will add a Bentley tab to your Revit menu.
From the Bentley tab select Create ISM Repository and export the Revit model. If you need additional information on using the Revit plug-in, see these articles on Bentley Communities:
ISM Revit Plug-in
Open the repository for the export location using ISM Viewer.
On the menu select File > Publish i-model.

One drawback to this method is that it only exports structural elements from the Revit model.
