When I use the DataGroup Definition Editor to check the properties available under ObjectClassification using the NM dataset, I see the following:
But when I check the Properties tab of the Schedule Properties dialog from DataGroup Explorer I see this:
Where do the additional properties come from?
The additional items shown in the Schedule Properties dialog are literally the descriptions for those specific Classifications. While the examples below are specific to the Neutral Metric dataset, the same concept applies to all.
For example, in the Place Wall tool you can see that each Classification entry has a matching Description:
These Classifications are stored in XML format, by default located in the dataset's \data\classifications folder as defined by the configuration variable BB_CLASSIFICATIONSYSTEM_PATH.
Each Classification item and its matching Description are contained in the applicable XML file. For example, here are the first three Classifications displayed in the Place Wall tool for MasterForm, OmniClass and Uniformat:
These are the additional entries displayed in the Schedule Properties dialog. Note that the <Name> entries are reflected in the placement and modification tools as the "Description" property. So if needed, you can modify existing values or add values where these fields may be empty directly in the respective XML file(s). Restart AECOsim Building Designer after making any changes so that they are properly reloaded.
