Question: Can the QuickConfig deployment be used for ProjectWise?
Answer: No. There is a separate managed workspace document for ProjectWise available here on Bentley Communities.

The QuickConfig Standard is intended to enable AECOsim Building Designer to be quickly and easily configured on a small network of 5 - 25 users. The steps taken could apply equally well to smaller networks and could also be used as a foundation for larger networks. However in the case of larger networks we anticipate that there may be complicating factors such as legacy projects or company specific workflows that may require a more customized approach and the involvement of specialist support from Bentley Professional Services or Bentley Partners.
It is also useful as testing and training environment using the supplied subst batch files to create simulated P and W drives.
Question: Can I set up my workspace on a network using the QuickConfig standard and store my project files in ProjectWise.
Answer: Yes, this can be done. This would be deploying ProjectWise with an unmanaged workspace.
Question: Where do I download the deployment files and pdf guide for the QuickConfig Standard?
Answer: They can be downloaded from Marc Thomas's blog here on Bentley Communities.

Question: Where can I get more information in the structure of the delivered building dataset?
Answer: Next month's SIG will be Customizing and Extending the AECOsim dataset. This will cover the basic organization of the dataset and how to customize content for your own unique projects.
Question: If a user is working on several projects at once, must they switch to the correct project workspace as they go in and out of files?
Answer: Yes.
Question: What if you do not store the delivered workspace on the local C:/ drive?
Answer: This guide is written with the assumption that the delivered dataset will be stored on the local C:/ drive.
To use a delivered dataset on the network copy the required dataset(s) to the network location, e.g.:
Then add the following to W:\SS6\Standards\01_Company_Dataset.cfg:
#----------------------------------------------------------------------
# Set Bentley Dataset Location
TF_DATASETS = $(parentdevdir(_USTN_SITE))Bentley_Datasets/
This will direct ABD to use the network location and ignore the c drive as a dataset location.
