Overview

It is possible to modify wall properties or wall type individually or for a selection of walls.

Methods

To change wall Type right-click on a wall or selection of walls, pick Modify Wall from the pop-up menu, select the new wall Type, confirm the required values when the Change Type dialog appears, and finally accept with a datapoint to confirm changes:

To change wall Properties:

a) Right-click on a wall or selection of walls, pick Modify Wall from the pop-up menu, make changes as required.

b) Make changes in the Schedules dialog:

1. Open the Schedules dialog from the Data/Reporting tab.
2. Set the list to Show Used.
3. Turn on the Filter, click on the down arrow to show/select the available filters appropriate to your discipline.
4. Select the walls to be modified, right-click and pick Edit Values:

Notes

While you can change from a single wall to a compound wall, consider that it can be better to change to Compound Walls later in the design process where possible since working with single walls is more straightforward in the early stages: changing the wall width is easy, junctions all connect simply, clean up is minimal.

Once you change to a compound wall automatic junction connections may not be as straightforward, some manual clean up may be needed even when layer connection priorities are correctly set. Refer to help on compound walls for guidance on setting priorities for the various layers.
