Background
Is there a possibility to exchange speedikon files with different locations? User a have to send a speedikon floorplan to another office. Do not use the dwg/dxf file format. Here is no speedikon intelligence inside. You can use the speedikon Archive. (SMD files)
Steps to Accomplish
Create
(export) a smd file
A SMD file (
S
peedikon
M
odell
D
aten) includes all information referenced to a floorplan. (Floor/Part).
All placed elements like stair, wall, roof, dimensioning, grid and so on.
Inside the speedikon Project Manager (file open) you can import and export speedikon Projects, Project-standards and single floorplans, sections or drawings.
The SMD file is not an interface! It is like a packager.
Open speedikon Project Manager
File - open
Right click a floorplan, section or drawing and choose
Archive…
Choose a directory by using this Button
Choose „
Execute
“
After some seconds this box will appear.
Inside the Archive directory will be created now a
*.smd
file and a
*.dgn
file.
The smd file includes
all speedikon information
The dgn file includes a
graphical copy
with no intelligence of speedikon.
But you can reference it for example.
Alternatively, you can choose more than one file in one step.
Right click the Modul „Floor plan“, „Section/Elevation“, „Drawing“ or „3D-Construction“ and choose more than one file.
Import a smd file
If you get a smd file you can
import
this file via speedikon Project Manager
Open the Project Manager
File - Open
Right click to you speedikon Project and choose „
Import Floor plan from archive…
“
Choose the directory where the smd file is located
If there is a Floor plan, Section/Elevation or Drawings with the same Name you will get a Box.
„
Import problem
“. Now you have the possibility to overwrite or to choose another Name or Numbering.
Attention: You can not undo this step!
Note:
incl. section marker
If you like to archiv the section markers you can toggle this option and all section markers will be imported.
Attention:
If there is a section marker with the same number you will overwrite this section!
Incl. Drawing file
If you toggle this option, the graphic file will be imported in each case. This is only importent if you use speedikon for AutoCAD Workbase or/and MicroStation.
Delete archive after import
If you toggle this Option, the smd file will be deleted after the import.
You can not undo this step.
Execute
The Import will be started.
Cancel
This will close the box.
