How to unify parts from two different families

Background

Unification across different parts is possible using a unifier, but if the parts are from different families the same is not possible. You can use a reference mask instead, but this should be done in sheet model at a stage just before printing. We should not use a mask in the Drawing model as that may create some unnecessary complications.

Steps to Accomplish

Please go through the following steps:

  1. First create the required drawing with application section callout. (As an example, columns from different families are placed next to a concrete slab. And then a section callout is placed)

    Step - 1

    Step - 2

  2. Then in the Drawing model, modify the section view to match visually all the elements which we want to see as unified. So, there will not be any misleading information once the print is created (If it seems deemed fit, we can disable unification to avoid any complications).

    Step - 3

  3. Now in Sheet View, place the fence in the required intersection areas and mask them.
    Step - 4
    Step - 5
  4. Next, create a new level which will not be visible during printing.
    Step - 6
  5. Using drafting tools and AccuDraw, place shapes on the sheet view exactly covering the section cut area.
    Step - 7
  6. Once done, from Drafting menu, go to pattern area. Then select the required hatch pattern and fill the section cut area
    Step - 8
  7. Once the print is created, it will display as thought everything is unified.
    Step - 9
