Background

Unification across different part is possible using unifier, but if the parts are from different families the same is not possible. To suing mask in Sheet View, we should be at a stage just before to take a print out. We should not use mask in DV, that may create some unnecessary complications.

Steps to Accomplish

Please go through the following steps to solve the issue.

1. First create the required drawing. And place required section callout. ( As an example, columns from different families are placed next to a concrete slab. And then a section callout is placed)

   

   

2. Then in DV, modify those sectional views to match visually all the elements which we want to see as unified, So, there will not be any misleading information once the print out is taken (If it seems deemed fit, we can disable unification to avoid any complication).

   

3. Now in Sheet View, place the fence in the required intersection areas and mask it.
    
   
4. In next step, create a new level which will not be visible upon printing.
   
5. Using drafting tools and Accudraw, draw shapes on the sheet view exactly covering the section cut area.
   
6. Once done, from Drafting menu, go to pattern area. Then select the required hatch pattern and fill the sectional cut area
   
7. Once the print out is taken, it will seem like everything is unified.
