Creation of Drawing Views in ProjectWise

      Product(s): AECOsim Building Designer
      Version(s): 08.11.09.747
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Drawing Views
      Subarea: Output

    Problem

When we cut our master model to crate plans/sections etc.. AECOsim locks the newly created plan/section  for editing.  This means that we have to close out the master model used to create the plan/section which lets us check in the new plan/section.  This then will allow me write access to the new plan/section.

Can you tell me if this is a AECOsim or Projectwise setting that can be manipulated to allow us to create multiple model cuts that can be opened in microstation without having to close the AECOsim master model

    Solution

There is no way to do what you want to achieve, ie., to create section cuts in the 3D model and not have them created until you can batch create a group of them at one time.  That is the limitation of ProjectWise. When you create a single section cut, you can just create it as a Saved View and not create the drawing view associated with it, but once you perform the drawing view creation, the 3d model has to get checked in and then you can write to the new 2D section cut plan you are creating.
