Structural members don't seem to retain their relationships to one another.

    Product(s): AECOsim Building Designer
    Version(s): 08.11.09.866, 10.00.00.xxx
    Environment: N\A
    Area: Structural Design
    Subarea: Structural Members

    Problem Description

Structural members don't seem to retain their relationships to one another.

For example, in the above GIF I've placed two longitudinal members, and then some transverse members using the "Place steel members framing between" tool. When I move the right longitudinal member, the cross-members aren't retaining their connection to the longitudinal member.

    Steps to Resolve

Using the “Stretch” tool we can maintain the connection of Structural members.

The location of Stretch tool in V8i is as shown in below image.

The location of Stretch tool in CONNECT edition is as shown in below image.

By default the Stretch Cells option is toggled ON. This is required since the Structural members are cells.

By default the Use Fence option is checked on but disabled (greyed out), allowing you to place a fence dynamically during the command. The Use Fence option will be enabled and by default checked on, if a fence is placed first before starting the Stretch command.
