 Subarea:Walls

Overview

New placement methods have been added in CONNECT Edition. In V8i walls could be only placed by Line, Arc or Curve or using the separate 'Create Walls for Space' tool.

Method

CONNECT Edition adds new methods unified with other options in the Placement tab, This tab is context sensitive and only appears during placement:

All 'Place By' options are consolidated into a single drop down.

We have added From Element. This can operate with multiple selections (note manual wall clean up using the 'Connect Walls' tool  is required where forms created from elements intersect/overlap/don't meet.)

One example is placing a cylinder, this can now be done by using a circle element, while the resulting cylinder will be in two halves perforations will apply to both halves if they coincide with the join between the two segments.

The Grid method will place walls on any selected grid lines, once the Grid method is chosen the selection tools will be allowed to select Grid elements by any of the available mode/methods. Obviously a floor must be active and have its grid displayed to place by grid. Walls are placed on each grid segment or whole grid lines when Ctrl + Shift is held down:
