Problem

After adding a step to an existing Plan Callout, I noticed that the grid already displayed in the Drawing Model or when applied to the 3D Model suddenly stops at the point where I added that step.  Is there any way to display the full grid while keeping the step?

Solution

Defect 810554 has been filed against this issue.  As you have found, the grid's display is truncated at the point where the first step is added, but only when the Clip Volume's edit handle on the stepped side is cropped.

Two potential interim workarounds would include:

1. Manually referencing grid Models to the Drawing Model. 

• From the Drawing Model, switch to the Ribbon Bar's Drawing Production tab and click on the Presentation button in the Settings tool group:
  

• Disable the Grid Lines option.
  

• From the 3D Design Model, open the Grid Systems dialog.
  

• Click on the Create/Update Grid Models button in order to generate DGN Models for the appliable grid systems.
  

• Reference the applicable grid Model(s) into the Drawing Model.
   

2. Un-crop the applicable edit handle.

• On the side where the grid is truncated, hover over the Edit Handle and click on Toggle Cropping.  This will of course display all geometry in that direction (if exists).
