Is there any other tool other than 'Modz' to change Z levels in AECOsim while moving 3D elements?
ModZ is a third party V8i MDL that would need to be recompiled for CONNECT Edition.
In both V8i and CONNECT Edition we have the 'Align Elements by Edge' tool which is valid for some alignment operations, press F4 to search the ribbon for its location(s).
Assuming that there is at least one element at Z=0:
Note that this will not work in isometric or rotated views.
To move some elements in Z we have added the 'Set Element Elevation' tool. While it does not yet apply to all element types, you can use it is as shown in this video:
If you need to move groups of elements using the Increment option there will be some to and fro between the 'Set Element Elevation' and selection tools. This can be eliminated by using the Graphic Group tool to group together elements that need to be at particular elevations. With Graphic Group lock On, each group can be incremented with one click. While this approach may seem to involve unexpected preparation, the use of Graphic Groups to flexibly group elements together for manipulation can save a lot of time that would otherwise be spent repeatedly recreating the same selection sets. Graphic Groups can be given names for effective management.
See MicroStation - Grouping Part 3 - Named Groups for more information on using Graphic Groups and Named Groups.
