Using Bentley Configuration Explorer with AECOsim Building Designer Update 4

      Product(s): AECOsim Building Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Configuration
      Subarea: Configuration Explorer

In AECOsim Building Designer Update 4 we made some changes to "C:\Program Files\Bentley\AECOsim CONNECT Edition\AECOsimBuildingDesigner\Config\appl\BuildingDesigner.cfg":

Prior to Update 4 we included the following at Line 280:

    BB_DATASET_ORGANIZATION_FILTER : $(TFDIR)
    BB_DATASET_WORKSPACE_FILTER : $(_USTN_WORKSPACESTANDARDS)/
    BB_DATASET_WORKSET_FILTER : $(_USTN_WORKSETSTANDARDS)/

In Update 4 we changed these to:

    BB_DATASET_ORGANIZATION_FILTER : parentdevdir($(DG_CATALOGS_ORGANIZATION))
    BB_DATASET_WORKSPACE_FILTER : parentdevdir($(DG_CATALOGS_WORKSPACE))
    BB_DATASET_WORKSET_FILTER : parentdevdir($(DG_CATALOGS_WORKSET))

While these changes are helpful to normal operations and those modifying configurations, unfortunately the 'parentdevdir' directive cannot be parsed by Bentley Configuration Explorer 10.00.00.11 so it will not run with AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition. A defect has been filed reporting this problem.

To get around this, only for users who need to use Bentley Configuration Explorer, modify the BuildingDesigner.cfg replacing the current statements with the previous versions.

    Important:

Note that if any of these variables have been modified later in the configuration ensure that changes made to BuildingDesigner.cfg are exactly as above using the ':' operator.

This does not apply to Update 3 or earlier, and will be reviewed during the release of Update 5.
