How do I open a workspace in Configuration Explorer?

Problem

I have installed Configuration Explorer, but after starting it I don't see any of the Bentley applications listed that I have already installed. And when I try to open a workspace file (*.BCF) I cannot find any. What am I doing wrong?

Solution

In order for Configuration Explorer to "see" an application so that it may be processed, you need to add that application to the list as shown here:

For more information see the topic "Application Manager" in the Configuration Explorer help.

Once an application is available, you can then use the Process Configuration command in order to review and troubleshoot all of the workspace's variables and paths.

This is also the point at which you can Save these results to a *.BCF file, which is essentially single file representing the entire workspace that may later be Opened in Configuration Explorer by you or anyone else.
