Grid lines

Structural DocumentationCenter will include every grid system that RAM Structural System has associated with a story in a framing plan. We follow the mappings defined in the RSS “Select Grid Systems” dialog box which controls grid visibility in the RAM floor plans. (Note: if a drawing is not aligned with a story, as is the case of the manually created drawing above, all the grid systems are included. A grid system is a cell in the drawing that can be deleted.)

The location of the grid bubbles can be adjusted using the Grid Lines tab of the Drawing Settings dialog box.

· Bubble positions (Top, Left, etc.)

· Plotted Offset (distance of bubble from the grid boundary)

After a change to the Drawing Settings, the drawing will need to be updated to reflect the change. The Drawing Settings currently are “global” in the sense they apply to all drawings. So, you may not want to save the settings in a one-off case. You can just make the change, leave the Drawing Settings dialog box open, update the drawing and then close the dialog box without saving. It is also possible to use File:Save As in the Drawing Settings dialog box to make a copy of the Drawing Settings.xml file. In this way, you might maintain several settings files for different cases. You can activate a settings file by using File:Open.
There is currently no way to adjust the position of an individual grid bubble. This will be handled later though the intelligent column grid system that we are developing.

From the Content->Review Drawings menu you can open the Drawing Center. The Drawing Settings dialog box can be opened from the toolbar.
