Assets are not stored in DGNs, but are stored in the database (along with location and attribution information) and then temporarily drawn in the DGNs on request. You can have assets display automatically whenever a DGN is opened, or you can manually control the display of assets using the Asset Display dialog box.
Note: When changes are made to the Asset Display dialog box (either Asset class changes or display filter changes), Use as Autodisplay automatically turns off. This prevents you from unintentionally changing the Autodisplay settings. The changes are saved until you reopen the dialog box. |
You can set up Bentley Facilities Planner so that certain classes of assets display automatically when you open a DGN.
Note:Note: If no fence or selection set is active, the view window will serve as the boundary within which to display assets. That is, the only assets that will display are those that fall within the area visible in the view window. To display all assets, you may have to zoom out until the entire model is visible within the view window. |
The way in which assets such as items of IT Equipment and Furniture display is user configurable. In the demonstration FM Model, they can be viewed at three levels of detail. The amount of information displayed in each mode is governed by the amount of detail drawn in the cell graphics for the assets in question.
If you so choose, you can display labels next to your areas and assets. Similar to displaying assets, you can either display labels manually as needed, or you can configure them to be auto-displayed whenever the label's area or asset is also being displayed.
