To Move the Contents of a Room Non-Graphically, Using the Move Wizard
Use the Browse window to locate the room whose contents you want to move.
In the view window, use the Place Fence tool to place a fence around the entire room.
Back in the Browse window, right-click the room whose contents you want to move and choose Move Wizard.
The Move Wizard opens and displays the Select Move Type page. The Graphical Move option is on by default, and the method used to select the contents of the room in the view window is displayed in the Object selection dropdown list box (in this case, Fence).
Turn on Non-Graphical Move and click Next.
In the MicroStation window, select the employee to move and confirm the selection with a data point.
A Status dialog box opens listing the objects included in the move as they are found. The selected employee and the objects linked to him/her highlight.
In the Move Wizard, click Next.
The Select Objects page displays. You can view objects and linked objects by dependency or by class by turning on Asset class or Dependency.
Click the + icon to open the list and select or deselect items tobe moved.
Objects to be moved display a red check mark, those which remain do not. The object's highlight in MicroStation is dropped when it is deselected and restored if reselected. Deselecting an object from a dependency or class causes its red check mark to change to yellow.
When the selection is complete, click Next.
The Wizard displays the Drop Links page. This displays the objects being moved and the objects linked to them. You can view linked objects by dependency or by class by turning on Asset class or Dependency.
Deselect those objects whose links you wish to drop, by clicking on the linked object.
Clicking a linked object toggles the dropping and maintaining of links. Links which remain display a link icon, those which are dropped display a red delete icon.
Click Next.
The Wizard displays the Select Destination page.
From the Hierarchy dropdown list, choose a navigation link.
In the Destination window, select a destination and click Finish.
A dialog box opens asking, Are you sure you want to move items to container?
Click Yes.
If a container already exists at the destination, the Select Container dialog box opens. You can either select an existing container and click Add To, or click Create New to move the contents into a new container. If no container exists at the destination location, the Create Container dialog box opens.
Enter a Name, Move Tag and Description for the container and click Apply, then click OK.
The Select/Create Container dialog box and the Move Wizard close and the assets are packed into the container. Notice in the view window that they are no longer in their original location. You can now use the Asset > Unpack Container tool to unpack the assets in the selected room.
