    Problem

This document demonstrates the best practices for a complete, clean re-installation of Bentley OpenBuildings. This involves uninstalling the software and then deleting all remaining data files.

    Solution

Before performing the methods described, ensure you are logged onto your computer through an administrator account and you have UAC turned off.

1] From the Control Panel, select Uninstall a program

2] From the list of available programs, uninstall all components that reference Bentley OpenBuildings Designer.

3] Now delete all of the following installation folders. Note if you cannot find the Program Data folder you will need to unhide it - see here.

    C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner CONNECT Edition - (please note this may contain your existing Worksets project data - if so please ensure to back these up firstly if required -  as shown here).

    C:\Users\user.name\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner

    C:\Users\user.name\AppData\Local\Temp\Bentley

    4] Reboot the computer.

5] Download and then install the software as detailed here.

    7] Reboot the computer.

You should now have a clean installation of the latest version of Bentley OpenBuildings Designer software.
