    How to install Regional Datasets

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Energy Simulator
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Installation and Licensing
      Subarea: Installation

    Overview

OpenBuildings Energy Simulator utilises the regional datasets that are available with the OpenBuildings Designer installation. These datasets deliver information such as the appropriate standards, units, and training materials for your region.

    Method

This article shows how to install the Neutral Metric dataset.

    • For New installations: When installing OpenBuildings Designer select the Configure option.

    • For existing installations: If the software has been installed already, then the above menu can be accessed by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features:

    • Right-click on OpenBuildings Designer and select Change:

    • Click on Next to proceed past the options for application installation location, configuration and features. It is recommended to leave these as default, however a desktop shortcut can be added, if desired. (Note this will create a shortcut to OpenBuildings Designer only).

    • The Dataset for the United States will be selected by default. Deselect this, and tick the box for Neutral Metric (NM) - Includes Building Examples and Training Worksets:

    • Select Done and proceed with the installation.
