We have steel columns that are not displaying the widget length correctly in CONNECT Edition drawings, at least when using the In Plot option. If the double line position is not at 50% the double line length may be wrong, particularly around a value of 3 or 4. In this case the widget is much longer than expected and is not positioned at the correct point along the column.
The "In Plot" option uses the active Annotation Scale to generate the widget length.
For example, with a 40' column using an In Plot value of 0:1 and Annotation Scale set to 1/8"=1', the resulting widget length is 8' or 1" x 96 (In Plot value X Annotation Scale).
However, the Double Line Position value is also a factor, since lower percentages may not allow the entire widget length to display. In the example above, if the Double Line Position value is low, say 5% of member length (2' for that 40 column), the center of the widget is too far down towards the bottom of the column for the entire 8' widget to display. So in this case the widget length is truncated to about 6' instead.
If we change the In Plot value to 0:0 1/4, or 2' at a scale factor of 1/8"=1' (96), the entire widget does display since its length fits within the 5% Double Line Position value.
If the active Annotation Scale is set to to Full Size then the In Plot value is used as-is for the widget length. In this scenario you would need to increase the In Plot value since an example like the one above would result in a 0:1" widget in the drawing against a 40' column.
Note that this is the same behavior as V8i SELECTseries6.
