    How to report Building Properties

    Overview

    OpenBuildings Energy Simulator allows you to easily review all the surface and construction data related to your building model. This can be used to:

    • Validate building data input.

    • Export results to assess embodied carbon.

    Method

    Under Calculations, Room Schedule will display all the surface data for your model.


    Including:

    • Summary statistics showing the totals for all rooms, including total floor area, volume, exposed wall and window area: 



    • A list of all construction types used for walls, partitions, floors, ceiling and glazing: 



    Should you require a more detailed breakdown of each room then this can be achieved by running a Simulation.

    1.  You can specify the reports required by selecting Report Settings in the top right corner.

    2. For a building data summary you may wish to select only the following reports, and more can be selected depending on your requirements:

    3. Click OK, and then Start any simulation:

    4. Once complete, the Summary Results will be available as below:
