    BRUKL Report - Energy Consumption

    Overview

    The BRUKL Compliance and Energy reports from the Part L program contain useful information about the sources of energy usage within a building.

    Method

    The breakdown of the energy consumption within these documents can provide valuable insight into what areas are having the greatest impact on the energy rating. Specifically:

    • Heating
    • Cooling
    • Auxiliary
    • Lighting
    • Hot water
    • Equipment

    This can highlight what areas should be targeted when looking to reduce energy consumption. These figures are shown in the Energy Consumption by End Use section of the BRUKL Compliance report, and graphs within the Energy Report. These can be seen, side-by-side below:

    Important Note

    The Total figure in the above reports does not include the energy usage for Equipment. This is in accordance with the SBEM calculation methodology and results required by DCLG. Please see highlighted note below:
