Beginning with CONNECT Edition Update 7, OpenBuildings Designer enhances ProStructures interoperability by allowing the placement and modification of native ProSteel elements such as beams, columns and plates, using the ProStructures Snaps toolbar.

Structural users can also now access the ProStructures Shape Catalog as well as create and access custom User shapes.

When opening DGN files that contain existing ("legacy") OpenBuildings Designer structural members, the Structural Element Upgrade Utility will provide the option of upgrading the file and/or workset's content to native ProStructures elements or retain them as legacy members.

If you choose to retain the legacy status you will see the traditional pre-Update 7 Structural tools, however, the ribbon bar will include a handy Upgrade Structural Elements icon so that you can easily upgrade at a later time.
