Computational Design Modeling with OpenBuildings GenerativeComponents

The Bentley Accredited BIM Modeler: Computational Design Modeling with OpenBuilidngs Designer is meant to validate a user’s knowledge and use of fundamental computational design concepts and basic GenerativeComponents tool use of geometry and building nodes in a building workflow.

Users will need to complete project tasks to demonstrate their skills and abilities within a provided building project. Users will create a new parametric stacking model based on computational design techniques used in the Building QuickStart GenerativeComponents Live Bundle.

The following is a list of skills required to complete the required project tasks:

    Computational Design Tools

    • Using geometry nodes for points, lines, arcs, b-splines, and surfaces.
    • Driving the Floor Manager with the Building and Floor node.
    • Creating variables with Slider nodes
    • Using lists to replicate geometry
    • Generating lists with a series function
    • Creating a polygon grid on a surface
    • Creating a user-defined node type

Users are required to take the following courses.

    Required Live/Virtual Courses

    • Building QuickStart GenerativeComponents Live Bundle

Users will then register for the required accreditation course to receive instructions on the accreditation project task.
