Overview

The Shading menu allows you to enter external buildings to examine the affect of shading on OpenBuildings Energy Simulator model.

At this time Shading is only considered in Simulations. It is not considered in Steady State calculations such as CIBSE Gain or Heat Loss.

To create shading for your Simulation:

Add Shading Element by creating the shape of the adjacent building.
Select Create shading and select the Shapes to be included as shading:
The Shading objects will then appear in your project tree:
Important: To use the shading components in simulations, make sure "Consider Shading From External Buildings" is checked on in the Properties for: Project dialog:
Run the Simulation.
