Overview

Self Shading from your building model itself can be included when running a Simulation.

This could be required for enclosed courtyards, for example.

Method

Due to it's complexity, Self Shading is only considered in Simulations. It is not considered in Steady State calculations such as CIBSE Gain or Heat Loss.

To ensure that Self Shading is considered:

1. On project properties ensure all shading options enabled, including Shading from Fins:
   
2. Include all relevant rooms when running the Simulation. If an adjacent room creating overshading is omitted it's shading will not be considered.
