These techniques are superseded by OpenBuildings Curtain Wall tools which use totally different technology.
V8i Only:
The Curtain Wall tool in AECOsim Building Designer SS3 and earlier versions of Bentley Architecture only place curtain wall cells with equally spaced mullions. Often, our designs require un-equally spaced mullions.
V8i Only:It is pretty fast to build your curtain wall from forms and then create a compound cell, but there is an even faster way.
First, Use the Curtain Wall tool to place a curtain wall cell that has the same size and number of vertical and horizontal mullions that you want in your new design.
Next, use the Drop Compound Cell command to drop the curtain wall's paz cell. (Pre-Building Designer, you may need to use the Key-in: TFDROP COMPOUND CELL to launch the tool)
Send the perforator to a level that is not the same as the curtain wall to make it easier to select later.
Use the Stretch command to stretch the mullions into the position that you want.
You can also Stretch the position of the glass in the frame:
Create a new compound cell out of the newly modified forms.
After you place your new compound cell, use the Apply Instance Data tool to apply Curtain Wall Datagroup properties to the cell. This will allow your compound cell to be scheduled with the other curtain wall.
