Note: Select the checks or run them all. Some items can be time consuming like checking all design file links. In the results tab you can select problems and decide on how to fix them individually.
Checking Dangling Instances
The Dangling Instances - instances without existing version option checks for instances which have no pending version. They appear in pending status and though cannot be accessed via normal Facilities interfaces.
To run the check, select Dangling Instances check in upper list box and click the Run Check or Run All Checks button. If dangling instances are found, the results are collected on the Found Problems tab.
When you select an instance from the Found Problems you can decide on action. By choosing Delete instance, you can cancel the instance from the active version. This is the default action on all the items. If you choose the Commit instance record, the instance will be committed to the data source.
Selecting multiple items is possible with using Shift key. Select the first item and then with the lift go to the last item and select with Shift key pressed. This allows to select the desired action on multiple items at once.
Choosing the Log info menu item from the pop-up menu gets information about who has committed dangling instances and in which version they were committed.
Checking Database Objects
The database object option checks for areas in the database without any matching graphical representation in the DGN. The unique IDs and names of any inconsistent areas found display in the output window.
Database object checks can only be carried out on open DGNs so, if you select multiple files to check, each one is opened in turn so that the checks can be performed. If the Fix Inconsistencies check box is set, the program stops when inconsistencies are found in a document and the Delete Inconsistency dialog box opens. This allows you to delete any inconsistent areas, select any areas you wish to delete and click Delete. If you click Ignore, the check continues without deleting the areas.
Checking Design File Elements
The design file element option checks for elements in the DGN which have no matching record in the database. If the Fix Inconsistency check box is set, any inconsistencies are fixed automatically and the area data is removed from any inconsistent area shapes.
Only the number of inconsistencies found display in the output window, but any inconsistent areas found in the currently open DGN highlight.
Checking links between area and file
The links between area and file option checks for areas in the database that are linked to DGNs that no longer exist. You do not have to select a document to run this check. The unique ID and name of any areas that are linked to a document, which no longer exists, display in the output window.
Checking links between asset and file
The Links between assets and file option checks for assets in the database that are linked to DGNs that no longer exist. The unique ID, number and name of any asset that are linked to a document, which no longer exists, display in the output window.
