How to create and apply a new Schedule

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Energy Simulator
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Data Managers
      Subarea: Occupancy detailing and Scheduling

    Overview

In accordance with the needs of a project, one might need to customize room schedule and occupancy to maintain coherence with real design conditions or imitate real time scenarios.

    Method

To manage schedules according to requirement, choose Data Managers  > Schedules.
The Schedule Manager window will open where we can find a list of existing Schedules prescribed by the software on the left side of the window. Based on the design requirement, one can choose any of the schedules already available.
If there is a need to create a Schedule, one can click on the New button as shown in the image below.

There are five options available in the Schedule Type drop-down list; On/Off, Percentage, Value, Temperature and Control respectively. One can design their schedule choosing the most appropriate schedule type based on the requirement.  Note that Daily, Weekly and Yearly schedules can be created sequentially keeping the same schedule type.

Please note: Yearly schedules are applied for simulation only.

After selecting the settings for the new schedule, click on the Apply button below the list as shown:

Once the schedule is created, one can apply the same for the components of a room; e.g., Lighting, Occupancy or Infiltration, from the project tree by choosing the properties of the components as shown below :
