Existing Constructions Missing

Overview

Upon opening an existing project, the Construction drop-down list under the Properties section of a component may be missing, as in the image below.

This is likely to result in calculation errors such as that shown in the following Wiki: Error - "Bad reference : CONSTRUCTION"

Method

This occurs when the DGN model has been opened in a different Workset, instead of pursuing it in the Workset where it was created.

You might find yourself in this situation if you selected a different Workset and then Browsed to the DGN model. This will have resulted in the pop-up shown in the image below - this is very important and should be treated with care.

Issues then occur as all the data related to materials and constructions are stored in the Standards folder, within EnergyData in the original Workset, eg:

One can avoid this issue by continuing in the Workset from which the DGN model was originally created.
Alternatively, if you wish to instead continue using the new Workset, you must copy the original EnergyData folder from the original Workset, and replace the same in your new Workset.

Overview

Upon opening an existing project, the Construction drop-down list under the Properties section of a component may be missing, as in the image below.

Method

This occurs when the DGN model has been opened in a different Workset, instead of pursuing it in the Workset where it was created.

Method

This occurs when the DGN model has been opened in a different Workset, instead of pursuing it in the Workset where it was created.

This scenario generally occurs when the DGN model has been opened in a different Workset, instead of pursuing it in the Workset where it was created.

All the data related to materials and constructions are stored in the Standard folder within EnergyData\Catalogs under Standards folder in the Workset. See below:

You might find yourself in this situation if you start working in a different Workset with the same model. This will result in the pop-up shown in the image below when you try to open the DGN file using a different workset.

One can avoid this issue by continuing in the Workset from which the Dgn model was originally created in Energy Simulator.

All the data related to materials and constructions are stored in the Standard folder within EnergyData\Catalogs under Standards folder in the workset. See below:

One can avoid this issue by continuing in the workset from which the Dgn model was originally created in Energy Simulator. However, if there is a requirement to move the Dgn to a different workset, it is recommended to move the entire dataset along with the configuration files as described in the article here ,
