A series of ATF***FAMILY errors are generated and the Family/Part drop-down lists are empty

    Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
    Version(s): CONNECT Edition & V8i
    Area: Datasets and Content
    Subarea: ATF family

    Problem Description

In OpenBuildings Designer a series of errors pointing to  ATF***FAMILY are generated and the drop-down lists in the Family/Part toolbar are empty:

Each of the errors in the Message Center is a Family named defined for that specific component type. If the XML files containing those Families cannot be located, then it’s likely your configuration is not pointing to the correct folders where those families exist.

    Steps to Resolve

Case 1 : If your entire workspace is on local drive/network drive

Go to Configuration Variables, search for TFDIR_PART and ATFDIR and check whether all the available variables are pointing to correct folder/file locations. If they are pointing to incorrect or non-existent locations, amend them to the correct folder locations.

Case 2: If you are working from a ProjectWise Managed Workspace.

You need to change the assigned value of TFDIR_PART. For that you have to go to PW Administrator then open the CSB where these variables have been assigned from your Datasource and select the corresponding variable (If they been assigned separately during CSB creation) in the CSB dialog.

Double click on the variable or click on Edit tools-

Assign the correct folders from ProjectWise or network drive and save the CSB file.

Finally restart the application to reflect these changes from application settings.
