Using AccuDraw Angle Roundoff for Modeling Efficiency

      Product: OpenBuildings Designer
      Version: CONNECT Edition
    Area AccuDraw
      Subarea: AccuDraw Settings

    The Situation

My building design has multiple angles, and I need to frequently place walls and other building elements at angles other than 0⁰ and 90⁰.

    Solution

Set an Angle Unit Roundoff in the AccuDraw Settings to add additional angle stops to the AccuDraw compass.

While there are a number of ways to rotate the AccuDraw compass, one easy solution if you are working with the same angles over and over, such as 0⁰, 45⁰ and 90⁰, or 0⁰, 30⁰, 60⁰ and 90⁰, is to set the Angle Unit Roundoff in the AccuDraw Settings to add additional angle stops to the AccuDraw compass.  This allows you to quickly find the angle and lock it, using the ‘A’ shortcut key-in, without actually rotating the compass.

    Steps:

    1. Open the AccuDraw Settings.
    2. On the Coordinates tab toggle on the Angle Unit Roundoff and set the increment.

    1. Close the dialog.

The AccuDraw compass will now have angle stops when in the Polar mode. The following may be useful key-ins to remember:
