IFC4 has been accepted as ISO 16739 by the International Standardization Organization. The main objective of the IFC Reference View is the widest possible proliferation of IFC BIM data across a large range of software application types supporting different communication and collaboration workflows.
The Building products team at Bentley Systems Inc. has successfully completed self-certification for the IFC4RV – Architecture module in our OpenBuildings Designer Update 8 release. Currently, IFC4 certification is based on the IFC4 Reference View 1.2 and includes architectural, structural, and building services (aka MEP) export exchanges.
