Floor Manager is empty and not able to create the grid

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Floor Management
      Subarea: N/A

    Problem

Floor Manager is empty when i try to create a new floor and I am getting the below error message “Failed to check out BB_FloorMaster.dgnlib” when clicking on Grid Systems Manager:

     Solution

The primary reason for this is that the two files  BB_FloorMaster.dgnlib and Project_Materials.dgnlib were not present in your \Standards\DgnLib folder of your custom workset or somehow removed from the delivered workset. The steps below should help to resolve this issues.

    1. Check whether the ( BB_FloorMaster_DGN ) configuration variable is pointing to the right location given below i.e., at the \Standards\DgnLib folder of your workset.

For example, the location of the above variable for the Bentley delivered NM dataset is

             [C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Building_Examples\worksets\BuildingTemplate_NM\Standards\DgnLib]

    1. If the above variable is pointing to the correct folder, then go to that file location (\Standards\DgnLib of your workset) and check whether the two files BB_FloorMaster.dgnlib and Project_Materials.dgnlib are present. If they are not there, then you will not be able to see the floors or reference planes in the Floor Manager nor create a grid from the Grid Systems dialog.

    1. If you add the two files above from a different workset to the workset in which these two files are missing, you should be able to see the floors in the Floor Manager and to create a grid.

Note that the workset from which these files are copied should use the same working units as your workset.
