    Error - "Keyword" error message

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Energy Simulator
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Part L
      Subarea: N/A

    Overview

When running a PartL calculation you may come across an SBEM error in the following format:

           *** ERROR *** Keyword ROOF-U-MAX in Object [CHECK2] "CHECK2" is required.
           *** ERROR *** Keyword ROOF-U-AVE in Object [CHECK2] "CHECK2" is required.

The same root cause can also on occasion result in the error:

      "Unknown Keyword: HW-SHOWER-FRACTION"

    Method

These errors occur due to an SBEM limitation.

In the messages above, the "Keyword" referred to corresponds to one or more of your buildings room names. SBEM will be unable to process the calculation should your PartL model room names contain special characters such as brackets.

To resolve please simplify the names of the affected rooms by removing any brackets, numerical operators, or special characters.
