This article demonstrates how to change your design day weather conditions.

Method

The weather data can be found under the Weather manager tab of Data Manager Ribbon.

Here, you can specify the Cooling Design Day and Heating Design Day temperatures.

N/A

Overview

This article demonstrates how to change your design day weather conditions.

Method

The weather data for any project stays under the Weather manager tab of Data Manager Ribbon.

Once, opening the weather manager window, you would find a list of already delivered weather files in the application section, as below:

You can copy the weather file of your desired location from the list and use the same to your project just by opting for “copy to project” option after selecting the suitable file. If you wish, you can import weather files as well, by using the import command available in the window.

After a successful import, you would be asked to assess your built environment under certain cooling and heating situations. The design cooling day and Design heating day are the ideal conditions for assessing the energy efficiency of a building. There are certain conditions and standards prefixed for assessment, such as 0.4% cooling by ASHRAE or 1% cooling by ASHRAE etc. Under these, you would only have one prefixed design day for evaluating worst heating or cooling conditions.

The prefixed design day might not be the worst situation in your location, in that case you would require to change the design day according to your preference.

For that, you might go to the dropdown list of design day type (cooling or heating) and opt for user supplied data.

After that, you would be able to select any day as your design day according to the weather condition of your project location. Other design data would be automatically fetched from the weather file as your design day preference.

Custom weather data files can also be imported as shown in this wiki.

After that, you would be able to select any day as your design day according to the weather condition of your project location. Other design data would be automatically fetched from the weather file as your design day preference.

For importing custom weather data files, please find the guidance here
