I am unable to move dimensions in the vertical direction in a drawing model using the Modify Element tool. How can I resolve this issue?
1. When you are unable to move a dimension in the vertical direction, the first thing to check is whether any axis lock has been defined. To check that, type Locks in the Search ribbon. On the Locks dialog there is an option called Axis Lock. If you see the box ticked then uncheck it. See the below image for reference.
Once the Axis lock box is unchecked, then you should be able to move the dimension vertically.
2. After implementing the first option, if the issue is still not resolved then search for Dimension Styles and select the style that was used when placing the dimension. Under the Geometry tab, there is an option called Dimensions with Leader. As you are not able to modify, you will see the mode Selected is None.
Change the Mode from None to On and adjust the Type as required, in this example I have selected None. 3. Once the above mentioned steps have been performed then selecting the Modify element command will let you move the dimension in any direction.
