How the ‘Group By’ option can be set without changing it manually from OBD.
The ‘Group By’ can manually be changed from the ‘Place Wall’ window. But if a particular option is needed to be set in OBD here is the process of saving it from the DataSet level. This ‘Group By’ information is stored in ‘WallFilterHierarchy.xml’ which lies in the ‘Setting’ folder in the DataSet level. By using this following step, you can always set the ‘Group By’ as ‘Wall Type’, Step-1, At first, manually set the ‘Group By’ as ‘Wall Type’ from OBD ‘Place Wall’ window. Step-2, Then click on the Save Setting toolbox or from Key-board press ‘Ctrl+F’. Then close OBD. Step-3, After that go to the Setting folder which lies in your current DataSet level, For our case we use DataSet_AU and our folder path is, C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_AU\Setting\WallFilterHierarchy.xml. Step-4, Get a copy of WallFilterHierarchy.xml. And store it in another location for future usage. Step-5, Now Open OBD and manually change the ‘Group By’ as ‘Manufacturer’ from OBD ‘Place Wall’ window. Then go for save settings and close the OBD. Step-6, Now replace the updated WallFilterHierarchy.xml with the older one which you have stored previously. Step-7, Then open OBD. And here you can find that ‘Group By’ was automatically set as ‘Wall Type’. For further reference, the video of the whole process is attached here. Please have a look for more clarity.
