Overview

Users might often face an error message which says “Runtime error 52; bad file name or number”

Method

This error might occur if we accidentally delete the “Hevacomp projects” folder while attempting a clean uninstallation. The folder is located at a default location in the C drive of the machine. See below:

We would suggest not to delete any default project folders while performing an uninstallation, as the software looks to locate Hevacomp projects at the default folder.

To get rid of this error,

Go to C drive
Create a new folder called “Hevacomp projects” inside the C drive
Start the software

You would see that a few default cache files are automatically created (see below) as you open the software.

After this, the software should be up and running. If not, then you might have saved any other folder as a default location for saving project data. In that case, you would require to perform similar steps in that location.
