UAC (User Access Control) and installation

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Installation
      Subarea: UAC

In earlier versions of AECOsim Building Designer we required UAC (User Access Control) to be disabled during installation to allow the installation of various legacy Microsoft components, primarily those relating to VBA and .NET.

As VBA content in the OpenBuildings Designer core and datasets has been updated to newer technologies we no longer require UAC (User Access Control) to be disabled during installation except for cases where the Electrical tools will be used.

These continue to rely upon .NET Framework 3.5 which requires UAC (User Access Control) to be disabled during installation to install correctly.
