    Resolving BBES Configuration error message

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Electrical Annotation and Design

    Problem Description

How to quickly resolve the BBES Configuration error as shown in the screengrab below when loading the Electrical in OpenBuildings Designer?

    Steps to Accomplish

Please follow the below steps through which you can quickly resolve the BBES Configuration error message.

    1. At first, go to this location from your C drive: “C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_FR” and search for Metadata and SymLibs

    1. Then copy those two folders from the Dataset level and paste them in the WorkSet level under Standards folder. Here’s the location to that folder: “C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Building_Examples\worksets\BuildingTemplate_FR\Standards”.

    1. After that again go to the Dataset folder location and rename Metadata and SymLibs folder.

    1. Then open the .cfg file (in this case FR workset was used) and added the variable “BBESDIR” to the workest.cfg file pointing the new location for Metadata and SymLibs folder and saved it.

    1. Finally, when you will restart your OBD and run the Electrical you will see that BBES will load up absolutely fine without any error.
