How can I change the default Visible Edges mode when creating new Drawing Views? 

Reason

I would prefer to have "Dynamic" as the default Visible Edges mode for new drawings view without needing to change the Visible Edges setting each time in the Create Drawing dialog box.

Steps to Resolve

Bentley recommends using "Cached" as the default Visible Edges mode for performance reasons, but if you prefer to create all new drawings using "Dynamic" mode instead there is a configuration variable you can modify to do this.

MS_REF_VISEDGE_ATTACH_STATE

This variable controls the default Visible Edge mode for new drawings and has the following options: Dynamic, CachedManual, CachedAutomatic, CachedAlert and CachedDisconnect.
