While we typically use Structural drawing rules to display vertical brace labels in a Section or Elevation view, I've noticed that in Plan view the labels are placed away from the structural members being annotated:
The errant vertical brace labels are actually coming from a Column rule using Footprint Annotation style:
The members being annotated by this rule are these horizontal braces, not vertical:
In addition, when applying the Drawing View to the 3D model we can see that the leader line on both sides is the same distance from the end point of those members:
The reason for this is the fact that these brace members are not parallel to the Plan orientation but rather slightly rotated, so that their ends are visible. Therefore, they are applicable to the Column Footprint Annotation rule, while the Bracing rule itself is Top/Side format:
The simplest way to eliminate this issue would be to apply the column rule based on Family/Part instead of All so that it is not attempting to annotate the horizontal braces:
In conclusion, this is a case of choosing a rule type - Top/Side or Footprint - that annotates a member face relatively parallel to the cut plane. Otherwise the Label Position values defined in the drawing rule may skewed since the annotation itself will be parallel regardless.
