Resolving the BB_PROGRAMMANAGER_DATA error for a newly created WorkSpace

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Datasets and Content

    Problem Description

How to quickly resolve the BB_PROGRAMMANAGER_DATA error in OpenBuildings Designer for a newly created WorkSpace and WorkSet?

    Steps to Accomplish

Please follow the below steps through which you can quickly resolve the BB_PROGRAMMANAGER_DATA error for a newly created workspace.

    1. After creating a new WorkSpace and WorkSet when you create a new file in OBD you can see that in the message center it is giving an error saying, “Configuration variable BB_PROGRAMMANAGER_DATA not defined”.

    1. Then close your OBD and open the delivered DgnLib folder under “Standards” in the WorkSet level: “C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Building_Examples\worksets\BuildingTemplate_NM\Standards\DgnLib” (in this case NM workset is used).
    1. After opening the DgnLib folder you can see a file named “dgnlib”. Copy that file in the newly created WorkSet under Standards >> DgnLib and restart your OBD.

    1. After restarting your OpenBuildings Designer you will no longer see that same error message. The reason behind the error was that missing DgnLib file in that newly created WorkSet.
