Toggle between 2D & 3D Symbols displays of the electrical elements

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Area: Electrical Annotation and Design

    Background

All Electrical symbols are Electrical discipline compound cells and have both 2D and 3D components. Each component can be viewed and/or moved separately. You have a choice between working in a 2D, 3D and 2D/3D environment.

    Solution

Below is the workflow that needs to be followed in order to toggle between 2D & 3D Symbols display of the electrical element.

1>  Register the .dgn file or From the backstage choose Settings > Buildings > Electrical Setup > File Setup to enable the electrical option

2> In an electrically loaded *.dgn file, Go to the Building Design > Electrical > Symbols > View > Display 2D & 3D

Here we can select the display view between the below three options or you can use the respective key in to change the display view.

    • Display 2D & 3D – Key in > BESMODE2D3D
    • Display 2D Only – Key in > BESMODE2D
    • Display 3D Only – Key in > BESMODE3D
