In some rare occasions, such as after a workstation power failure or an application crash or issue with getting RSS feeds, OpenBuildings Designer can refuse to start up correctly. In these cases resetting OpenBuildings Designer to its factory defaults can resolve the issue.
1. From the Windows "Start" button type "Run" and hit Enter 2. Browse to OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe (default location is C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe) and copy the path 3. Paste the path in the Run dialog, add a space after the ...\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe", and type -restoredefaults NOTE: the OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe full path is in quotes. Place a space AFTER the quotes, then type -restoredefaults.4. Press any key to Exit.
Note: The same steps need to be done for AECOsim Buildings Designer, though the location of the .exe would be different. It would be: "C:\Program Files\Bentley\AECOsim CONNECT Edition\AECOsimBuildingDesigner\AECOsimBuildingDesigner.exe"
