How to add a Dataset when OpenBuildings Designer is already installed on your machine

 Product(s):OpenBuildings Designer
 Version(s):CONNECT Edition
 Area:Installation

Problem

While working on different projects sometimes multiple Datasets are needed, but while installing OpenBuildings Designer all available Datasets are usually not included in one go. How can I add a Dataset I don't already have?

Solution

For projects where a Dataset might be needed but is not available, please follow the workflow below:

1. Go to ’Control Panel’ and click on ‘Uninstall a Program'.
2. Search for ‘OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition’ from the list and right-click on it.
3. From there you will see the option called ‘Change’ that you can select.
4. The ‘OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition’ installation dialog will open. From there click on the ‘Configuration’ button.
5. A new page will open, click on ‘Next’.
6. On the next page you will find the option to choose your required Dataset. From the list click on the check box associated with the desired Dataset then click on Next. On the following page click on ‘Done’.
7. You will find that you are back to the first page of the OpenBuildings Designer installation dialog. From there click on ‘Modify’ and then the process of installing a new Dataset will start.
8. At the end click on the ’Finish’ button. Now start ‘OpenBuildings Designer’ and from the WorkSet dropdown list you will find the newly added WorkSet and matching Dataset.
