How to add the required DataSet when OpenBuildings Designer is already installed on your machine?

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Designer
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Installation

    Problem

While working on different projects sometimes multiple DataSets are needed. But while installing OpenBuildings Designer all DataSets are not usually downloaded in one go. But for projects sometimes a DataSet might be needed which is not present in OBD at that moment. For this issue here is the workflow that will help to solve this kind of issue,

    Solution

    1. Go to ’Control Panel’ and click on ‘Uninstall a Program
    2. Search ‘OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition’ from the list. And then right-click on it.
    3. From there you will get options called ‘Change’ you need to be clicked.
    4. Then the ‘OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition’ page will arrive. From there click on the ‘Configuration’ tab.
    5. Then a new page will arrive. There you need to click on ‘Next’.
    6. On the next page you will find the option to choose your required DataSet. From the list click on the check box associated with your needed DataSet. Then click on next. On the next page click on ‘Done’.
    7. You will find that you came back to the first page. There click on ‘Modify’. Then the process of installing a new DataSet will start.
    8. At the end click on the ’Finish’ button. Now go to ‘OpenBuildings Designer’. From the WorkSet dropdown list, you will find the new DataSet.
