Background

The visible edges configuration variables allow you to control the visible edge calculation settings. These variables either provide default settings or override the existing setting values.

Solution

The workflow outlined below should be followed in order to create a set of custom default settings for Export Visible Edges.

The Export Visible Edges dialog is available in this location: File > Export > Common File Types > Visible Edges (*.hln)

 

The configuration variable “MS_VISEDGE_DEFAULTS” controls the default settings. The default settings are otherwise extracted from the design file. You can still change these values through the user interface as desired. The default settings are applied when you open a design file and choose File > Save Settings.

This variable is stored in the BuildingDesigner.cfg file under this location: C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\Config\appl\

 

The visible edge override keywords need to be defined along with the values mentioned in the below image and each keyword should be separated by a comma (,):
